Annotations provide a way to use the Fulcra platform to track and instrument parts of your daily life using anything that can make HTTP requests, including services like IFTTT, iOS shortcuts, and IoT buttons. You will be able to see them laid out in your Timeline allowing you to compare it with your other data. This opens up a world of possibilities for personal data collection and analyzation!
Some sample use cases for Annotations are:
Mood tracking
Logging water or food intake
Keeping tabs on your caffeine intake
Tracking supplements intake
Tracking stress
Logging social interaction frequency
Monitoring alcohol consumption
Logging moments of mental clarity or fog
And many more!
Tags
Tags provide additional context to events recorded from Annotations. An Annotation can contain one or more tags. If the user chooses to enter more than one tag, each of the tags will be recorded when the URL is accessed.
For example: One record for "Writing Flow State" will also create one record for the tags "Contentment," "Writing," "Accomplishment," "Flow," and "Focus".
By appending specific tag arguments to the Annotation URL, you can also selectively record only the tags you need.
For example: If an Annotation has five tags but you only want to record 'Focus,' you can use the URL format: https://fulcra.io/e/[annotation URL]
?tag=Focus to ensure only the 'Focus' tag is recorded, rather than all five tags.
Notes
You can add notes that describe anything related to the purpose of the Annotation. This is an optional field.
