You can connect your agents to Fulcra without the Context app. The app is optional, and whether you want it depends on what data you want your agents to see.
What works without the app
If you connect through the CLI or the MCP server, you can create a free Fulcra account and start working with your context right away. Your agents can read and write to your Fulcra data store, and you can build context and memory by connecting your agents and data sources via the Fulcra API, all without installing anything on your phone.
This is the right setup if your context lives in the things your agents already work with: notes, custom data you record, calendars and / or sources you wish to connect directly, and whatever your agents learn and store over time.
What the app adds
The Context app is how you collect real-world data from your phone and wearables that is otherwise hard to access. When you download it and sign in with the same Fulcra account, it can connect sources like your calendars, location, biometrics, and health apps, then feed that data into the same context your agents already use.
So the app is not required to get started. It a the way to give your agents a richer, more complete picture of your day if that is what you want.
Getting the app
When you are ready, you can download the Context app from the App Store and sign in with your existing Fulcra account.
